Menorca Cruising has a long history going back to 1994 when it was established as the first RYA sailing school in the Mediterranean.
Mahon harbour offered the perfect location for teaching beginners to sail and the safe anchorages and lovely harbours of Addaya, Fornells and Ciutadella are ideal destinations for new skippers making their first passage plans.
We took over as owners of the business in 2007 and more recently we added a fleet of ribs to enable us to offer RYA Powerboat courses and ICC assessments in Mahon.
John Davies is the owner and Principal of the sailing school and Andrew Hutton is our excellent Chief Instructor. Both of them are involved in managing the maintenance of our boats. We use a small number of hand picked sailing and powerboat instructors with the required experience and teaching skills to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable learning experience.
In 2005 Menorca Cruising dipped its toe into the yacht charter business, allowing students to embark on their first bare boat charter on similar Bavaria yachts in a familiar location. Over the last 11 years the business has grown as we have gradually added sailing yachts from 34-57 feet to the charter fleet. Many of our yachts are privately owned and managed by us for British and Spanish owners. We charter the yachts from March until November and spend the winter months maintaining them and caring for them to ensure that your holiday is as enjoyable and trouble free as possible.
Today, we offer a range of 8 mono hull sailing yachts, 3 ribs, a sports boat and a Menorquin motoryacht for charter in Menorca.
We do our very best to make your course or charter as enjoyable and relaxed as possible. We are only a short taxi ride from the airport. We have a courtesy car you can use free of charge to do your shopping and you can leave your bags in our office when you arrive and before you leave. We can help you to print off boarding passes or book a ferry or hire a car. Sometimes it is the small things that can make all the difference.
